Taxi repair finance company Bumper has launched a new online pre-approval service to help taxi drivers finance their repairs.

Since 2021, Bumper has been helping UK taxi drivers finance repairs and maintenance by spreading the cost over 3, 6 or 9 interest-free monthly installments. The payment solution offered drivers financial flexibility while keeping their taxis on the road and providing a vital service to the public.

To make things even easier, Bumper has introduced online pre-approvals. This allows drivers to search for taxi-specific repair centers and apply for interest-free financing of up to £5,000 on the Bumper website.

Taxi drivers can now enter their license plate and zip code, select a local partner garage and request a pre-approved credit limit without impacting their credit score. Once approved, drivers can schedule an appointment with the garage of their choice and when ready to pay, present their unique Bumper Code from their confirmation email.

Bumper works with a range of taxi-specific partner garages, including well-known companies like KPM and LEVC Central. Repairs and maintenance are available on all taxi models, including electric TXEs, diesel TX4s and Mercedes Vitos.

Aidan, Head of Cross Business Development at Bumper, said: “Speaking with drivers, one of the biggest concerns when owning and operating your own taxi is unexpected repair bills, taxis have to stay on the road. Whether it’s a new gearbox, maybe an engine rebuild or just a service, we can help drivers with cash flow by spreading the cost, interest free. With online pre-approvals, drivers can have peace of mind knowing their taxi can stay on the road.

“Bumper has big plans with more partner garages being added daily.”

Drivers can apply and search for partner garages in their area here.
