Lenovo Unveils TruScale HPC as a Service | Business and finance

Today at his winter stock event, Lenovo (HKSE: 992) (ADR: LNVGY) unveiled Lenovo TruScale™ High Performance Computing as a Service (HPCaaS), bringing the power of supercomputing to organizations of all sizes through a cloud-like experience. New High-Performance Computing (HPC) as a Service (aaS) Offering Expands Lenovo’s Offering all as a service TruScale and gives HPC customers access to greater supercomputing resources, accelerating the response time of researchers working to solve humanity’s greatest challenges.

Cloud-based HPC is the fastest growing segment of high-performance computing, and on-demand resource consumption provides more efficient and scalable computing resources to meet workload demands. The typical HPC cluster is operating near capacity, with increasing demands on compute and storage cycles and little room for additional workloads. Lenovo TruScale HPCaaS provides additional capacity that allows research institutions to better compete for grants while obtaining insights faster. The technology provides rack-to-cloud solutions that are critical to driving innovation across multiple industries, including academia, pharma, manufacturing, and healthcare.

“Lenovo TruScale HPC as a Service enables incredible innovation with the flexibility for HPC customers to expand their clusters as needed” said Scott Tease, vice president and general manager of HPC at Lenovo. “We designed this offering to make it easier and faster to deploy high-performance computing resources, giving researchers the freedom to think bigger and without technology getting in the way of their success.

New possibilities with TruScale HPC as a service

TruScale HPC as a Service optimizes HPC cluster resources and controls shared access through a simple pay-as-you-go model managed and supported by Lenovo. With technology installed directly in the customer’s data center, HPC workload managers can dynamically access resources and provision them on demand. Additional cluster resources can be obtained via “push button” access, allowing enterprises to utilize additional compute, storage, and acceleration capacity as needed.

As a global leader in high-performance computing, Lenovo works closely with key industry partners to develop, integrate and deploy technologies that deliver exascale-grade computing to organizations of all sizes, or what Lenovo calls Exascale to Everyscale™. . Whether studying climate change under the arches of the Torre Girona in Barcelona or predict weather patterns that protect coastal communities at North Carolina State University, Lenovo’s award-winning HPC solutions help researchers around the world push the boundaries of what’s possible and solve some of the world’s greatest challenges. With the new Lenovo TruScale™ HPCaaS, any organization can have immediate access to additional compute, storage, and acceleration capacity with more HPC resources available on demand.

A practical and flexible approach to HPC

Lenovo TruScale gives organizations of all sizes the flexibility they need to stay competitive with scalable end-to-end solutions with a cloud-like consumption model and predictable payment options for hardware and services. The simple, comprehensive platform enables organizations to maximize return on investment and accelerate time to value. TruScale for HPC gives customers the ability to quickly add provisioned resources, without being hampered by procurement delays or supply chain disruptions.

With Lenovo TruScale HPCaaS, customers have expanded capabilities to scale their supercomputing needs as needed. Customers can:

  • Pay for what they use with no hidden fees
  • Easily scale HPC clusters by removing resource limitations
  • Run large-scale applications without architectural bottlenecks
  • Translate capital investments into operational expenses, avoiding long and intensive budget cycles and procurement delays
  • Manage budgets and view consumption and billing through Lenovo’s TruScale Portal
  • Access specialized equipment

More protection and security

Lenovo TruScale HPCaaS provides high levels of control and security. On-premises HPC capability provides transparent and protected access to data without any changes to job scripts or potential risks associated with public cloud exposure. Dedicated Lenovo professionals ensure data security, from installation to use to decommissioning. These features come in a very cost-effective package with no data egress or data ingress charges associated with usage. Combined with the flexibility and agility that TruScale has to offer, customers can realize the full potential of their data.
