Girardi Keese owes litigation finance company $ 10 million, files show

Litigation finance firm claims late plaintiff firm Girardi Keese owes more than $ 10 million, while brother of firm founder Tom Girardi says his brother is “unable to make decisions rational “and asked a bankruptcy judge to appoint him to speak for Girardi.

The lender, identified as Virage SPV 1 LLC, filed the disclosure Tuesday in U.S. bankruptcy court and is the third lender to claim Girardi Keese owes millions of dollars in loan repayments. Last month, other creditors filed involuntary Chapter 7 bankruptcy claims against Girardi and his company, which also face a $ 2 million contempt judgment for failing to pay customers settlements with Boeing following the 2018 crash of Lion Air 610 in Indonesia.
