In a statement released on Wednesday, the finance division said that when the anchor (Nadeem Malik) asked about the gas shortage situation in the country, financial adviser Shaukat Tarin said the reasons, including global shortages. of LNG going on that created a fiasco, and it was nobody’s control.
The government bought the gas as needed despite higher international prices.
However, Shaukat Tarin mentioned that a tender was dropped in July, but it has nothing to do with winter gas.

The division said the financial adviser did not at any time mention that the winter gas shortages are due to the failure to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) on time.
It is also clarified that very little LNG is diverted to domestic gas consumers due to the high price differential and winter gas shortages that we face every year due to the depletion of our local gas fields.
