Citrus Hotels launch free shuttle service

Citrus Leisure properties, Citrus Waskaduwa and Citrus Hikkaduwa, have recently launched a special complimentary guest shuttle service to and from nearest train stations to provide a new and exciting hassle-free travel experience, making it easier access to properties.

While the initiative was launched on the 4th of July, in response to difficulties customers were having in traveling to Citrus properties, due to the ongoing fuel shortage, customers were thrilled with the experience of the ride by train and the convenience of not having to drive. from Colombo or having to hire a means of transport. Thus, customers have no reason to delay their travel plans due to fuel shortage. This is an ideal opportunity and arrangement for families looking for midweek and weekend getaways, and corporate staff looking for outing opportunities.

Customers traveling to Citrus Waskaduwa can disembark at the 01 train stop in Waskaduwa and customers traveling to Citrus Hikkaduwa can disembark at the Hikkaduwa station. From there, they can enjoy the convenience and comfort of being transported to their respective hotels in special transportation arranged for them by the hotel.

At the end of their stay in Citrus Waskaduwa or Citrus Hikkaduwa, guests will once again enjoy a complimentary shuttle service to catch their train back to Colombo and enjoy another ride along the coast before arriving in Colombo, rested and relaxed.

CEO of Citrus Leisure PLC, Chandana Talwatte said: “In the true Citrus spirit of driving as many extra miles as necessary for the satisfaction of our customers, we have decided to launch this free service not only to help our customers in the midst of the fuel crisis, but also to offer an unprecedented experience.

“Our free shuttle service and the whole train travel experience has been a resounding success and customers are thrilled. Many have even said they would opt for a train ride even once things are back to normal as it is so nice and relaxing,” he said.

Given the current circumstances, Citrus Leisure is also considering launching a shuttle bus service for groups of minimum 10 to maximum of 15, for a nominal fee, from Colombo to Citrus Waskaduwa.

This service also aims to help guests enjoy a hassle-free journey to and from the hotel, while enjoying a relaxing vacation.
