Camino operates a popular bar and historic beer garden located in downtown San Jose, California. Additionally, the brewery distributes draft and canned beer to restaurants, bars, markets and chain stores including Safeway, Whole Foods, Total Wine and More, New Seasons and Knob Hill.

We are looking for a leader for our team to plan, prioritize and execute high level financial tasks as well as manage the daily financial operations of the Brewery.

This role will serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO / co-founders. As a CFO, you have the opportunity to make a difference and be part of a growing business.

FUNCTIONS:

  • Preparation of profit and loss models and other management reports

  • Perform budget variance analyzes and forecasts for various levels of management.

  • In-depth understanding of industry-specific KPIs

  • Make sure we meet key financial goals

  • Directs and is responsible for internal control, cost analysis and supplier management.

  • TTB, Federal Excise and California Tax fillings

  • Close monthly books accurately

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.

  • Prepare monthly strategic reports including P&L, cash flow statements and balance sheets, as well as industry reports that effectively communicate business trends and provide options / insights for a path to to follow.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Significant experience in the beverage / manufacturing industry an asset

  • Experience with KPIs and trend detection

  • Experience with data analysis tools

  • Logistics experience

  • Effective communicator, both in person and in writing

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE

Knowledge and skills:

  • Must have 3-5 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, or similar technical skills.

  • Knowledge of computerized accounting and experience with Xero accounting software is a plus, as well as MS Word and MS Excel.

  • Knowledge of brewery management software (Ekos is a plus)

  • Ideal candidates should demonstrate responsiveness, tact, diplomacy, good judgment and confidentiality with all levels of staff, owners and customers.

Calendar

This is a contract or PT position to start with and can lead to a full-time position, working from home and frequently on-site at the brewery, during regular brewery hours (8 a.m. 00 – 18:00 Monday to Friday) The candidate must be ready to adapt to schedule changes and work overtime depending on operations. The work environment requires frequent and regular use of the computer and the telephone.

Preference will be given to applicants familiar with brewery management software, point of sale and online store systems, and accounting software.

Compensation

Remuneration is based on experience. Camino Brewing intends to deploy medical vision, dental benefits and stock options.
