Three detained for robbing staff of a financial company in Khurda

Nirakarpur: Police have arrested three people involved in the looting of Rs 1.12 lakh from the staff of a financial company near the village of Khajuripada below the boundaries of Nirakarpur police station.

Those arrested were identified as Shakeel Shah from Khajuripada village within the boundaries of Nirakarpur police station in Khurda, and Illias Khan and Rabuddin Khan from Ghoradia village within the boundaries of Delang police station in Puri.

Reportedly, Gopbandhu Sahu, an employee of Bharat Finance, was returning from collecting money from SHG women when three miscreants on bicycles intercepted him near Khajuripada village. The trio then threatened Sahu with sharp weapons and snatched the bag containing the money from him after beating him black on blue.

Two days later, a bicycle was also stolen from Pandabapatna village in Nirakarpur, following which the local police opened an investigation.

Last night, a police team led by IIC Gitanjali Nayak arrested the trio and recovered Rs 88,000, three stolen bicycles and four mobile phones from them. One case (89/22) was registered at Nirakarpur police station in this regard.
